Vancouver Regional Construction Association’s 2012 outlook remains positive despite non-residential declines

VANCOUVER, May 7, 2012 – Total building permit values in the Lower Mainland-Southwest region rose two per cent in March 2012 compared to February 2012 and were up nine per cent compared to the first three months of 2011, according to Vancouver Regional Construction Association’s analysis of today’s Statistics Canada Building Permit Report.

Non-residential investment up for fifth consecutive quarter in Abbotsford

First quarter 2012 spending highest since fourth quarter 2008

Abbotsford permit values edge up in February

Drop in residential permits offset by jump in non-residential permits

VANCOUVER, April 5, 2012 – Building permit values in Abbotsford rose slightly in February 2012, with a rise in non-residential permits offsetting a drop in residential activity, according to Vancouver Regional Construction Association’s analysis of Statistics Canada Building Permit Report. Seasonally adjusted total building permit values in Abbotsford edged up four per cent in February to $18.6 million, up from $17.8 million in January 2012.

Lower Mainland-Southwest permits dip in January, but 2012 off to a good start

Regional industrial permits reach highest level since November 2004

VANCOUVER, March 7, 2012 – Total building permit values dipped three per cent in January compared to December 2011, but were up significantly over January 2011, according to Vancouver Regional Construction Association’s analysis of today’s Statistics Canada Building Permit Report. Decreases in institutional-government and commercial permits were partially mitigated by increases in residential and industrial permit activity; the latter reached the highest level since November 2004.
